Aponogeton distachyos 'Water hawthorn'
plants and garden
The 'Water Hawthorn' is a free-flowering deep water plant that produces beautiful white, vanilla-scented flowers. Although free-flowering for most of the year, they look particularly fantastic early and late in the year. Due to this and the fact that they can grow well in partial shade, they make an excellent accompaniment to water lilies.
This plant is very hardy, and if protected from frost is able to flower all Winter. For a short time in August it dies back, so please do not throw away a dormant basket of Aponogeton distachyos in the summer thinking it has died.
Where fragile leaves may be damaged in transit, remove them and new ones will soon regrow.
